Ballinger Named Principal

Benton & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce Stefanie J. Ballinger, PE, has achieved the position of becoming a Principal of the firm in recognition of her years of service, contributions to our clients’ projects and ownership commitment to the future of Benton & Associates, Inc. Ms. Ballinger serves as a lead engineer in our general civil and transportation group.

Stefanie is a licensed professional engineer, and provides civil engineering planning, design and construction phase services in a wide range of infrastructure improvements including all facets of IDOT highway/interstate projects, safe-routes-to-schools projects, community stormwater drainage, transit facilities, sewer collection systems and wastewater treatment plant facilities. Stefanie has been with B&A since 2014, first starting in our Macomb office and later relocating to our Jacksonville office.

Benton & Associates, Inc., a consulting engineering/land surveying firm headquartered in Jacksonville, Illinois, announced election of its 2022-2023 officers and Board of Directors: Reginald H. Benton will serve as the Chairman of the Board, Jamie L. Headen was elected as the President. Other officers and directors include Douglas J. Erickson, Vice-President and Director; William J. Fox and Stewart Named Associates

Benton & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce Adam L. Fox and Joshua S. Stewart, have each attained the position of associate at the firm in recognition of their years of service, contributions to our clients’ projects and commitment to the future of Benton & Associates, Inc.

Adam L. Fox has been employed with Benton & Associates for over 12 years and is a licensed Class A Water Operator. Fox works in the environmental department and his experience includes the design, permitting and operation of water treatment plants and water systems, wastewater system improvements, environmental permitting for a variety of infrastructure projects, and construction phase services.  Mr. Fox holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of Illinois at Springfield.

Joshua A. Stewart, PE, is a licensed professional engineer and our Kirksville, Missouri office manager who provides planning, design and construction phase engineering services on a variety of infrastructure projects that includes water and wastewater treatment plant improvements, rural water systems, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, new residential and commercial land development, and elevated water storage tanks. Stewart has been with B&A since 2010 and is a graduate of Missouri University of Science & Technology.

Jones Named Principal

Benton & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce C. Cameron Jones, PE, SIT, has attained the position of Principal of the firm in recognition of his years of service, contributions to our client’s projects and ownership commitment to the future of Benton & Associates, Inc.

Mr. Jones has many years of experience in civil engineering design and project delivery. Assisting clients in water and wastewater treatment, collection, distribution and operations along with general civil engineering, surveying and GIS services. Cameron leads the firm’s wastewater treatment focused efforts assisting clients in finding the right fit to meet their treatment needs. He enjoys working closely with clients to walk them through the process of concepts through funding, construction and operations. Mr. Jones manages the GIS services throughout the company to bring a consistent, user-friendly product to the end user.

Mr. Jones is a graduate of Southern Illinois University – Carbondale and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Missouri and Indiana, and a licensed Surveyor-in-Training in Illinois. He is a member of the Illinois Water Environment Association, Water Environment Federation, Illinois American Water Works Association, Illinois GIS Association, Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association, and Jacksonville Bible Church in Jacksonville. Cameron enjoys volunteering his time to his church, the Morgan County Fair and the community as a whole. He resides in the Jacksonville area with his wife and two daughters.

Addition of Ruholl

Benton & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Drew S. Ruholl, PE, to our Jacksonville office.  Ruholl is a graduate from SIU-Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering.  He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois.  Ruholl was previously employed with the Illinois Department of Transportation for seven years as a Civil Engineer III.  Ruholl will work in B&A’s transportation department.  He has experience in Phase I planning and designs including project reports, drainage studies, pavement designs, traffic impact analysis and staging, and bridge condition reports; Phase II planning and design including contract plans, specifications, and estimates; Phase III construction observation; and surveying for the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Ruholl is a member of the American Consulting Engineers Council of Illinois, Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, and American Society of Civil Engineers.  He and his wife reside in Mount Sterling.

Celebrating Our 50th Anniversary

We are moving forward with our celebration of Benton & Associates, Inc.’s 50th anniversary. During these trying times, we have coordinated a plan to safely socialize and celebrate while social distancing. Please check in upon arriving. We’ll share with you our plan so that you may take a quick walk-through of our clean office and proceed to the tents outside.

Taylorville WTP Opflow Article

Opflow – Taylorville WTP

The Taylorville, Ill., water system serves city customers, neighboring communities, and rural water systems. Changing regulations related to Cryptosporidium, increasing well water nitrate levels, and the age of the existing treatment plant required a fresh look at the future of the city’s water system. After reviewing the options and costs, a new treatment plant was constructed across the street from the existing facility and put into operation in August 2019.
