Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree and 5+ years of experience OR,
  • High school degree (or equivalent) and 7+ years of experience.
  • Experience with CADD software in developing infrastructure or building construction plans.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience and comfort working in a team environment with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet various project deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

B&A is seeking a candidate to fill a full-time Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer (P.E.) position located in any of the following locations – Jacksonville, Illinois; Macomb, Illinois; Taylorville, Illinois; Kirksville, Missouri; or Rolla, Missouri. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage the design development of water distribution and treatment facilities, wastewater collection and treatment facilities, pump stations, and stormwater detention/retention/conveyance systems. The ideal candidate will quickly integrate within B&A’s management team and become comfortable directing projects from inception through construction while improving and expanding our client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering teams across all levels and disciplines within B&A to effectively complete project tasks.
  • Produce engineering plans and specifications for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
  • Prepare planning reports and infographics.
  • Perform construction observation and contract administration duties.
  • Perform complex engineering calculations, hydraulic analysis, and product specification development.
  • Maintain high technical proficiency related to either water or wastewater engineering with the ability to mentor staff in that proficiency and raise the firm’s capacity to acquire and perform these types of projects.
  • Improve client relationships and consistently bring work to the firm with existing and new clients.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • P.E. licensure in the State of Illinois OR Missouri or the ability to obtain licensure within 12 months of employment.
  • 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering including the development of engineering planning reports, plans and specifications, and performing construction observation.
  • Experience in the design and permitting of water and/or wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Experience with CADD software in developing water/wastewater construction plans.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience and comfort working in a team environment with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet various project deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Familiarity and comfort working with municipal clients and presenting at committee and council meetings.
  • Ability to quickly learn B&A business practices and effectively assist in managing client relationships through effective communication and delivery of quality work products.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing MicroStation or Autodesk Civil 3D in infrastructure plan production.
  • Experience utilizing WaterGEMS or similar hydraulic modeling software.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • P.E. and S.E. licensure in the State of Illinois or the ability to obtain an Illinois P.E. and S.E. within 1 year of employment.

  • Become familiar with emerging CADD and 3D modeling technologies and work with B&A leadership to determine how they can be utilized effectively on projects.
  • Mentor staff to produce high-quality construction documents, models, and graphics more effectively and efficiently.
  • Enact quality control and assurance practices to produce accurate and consistent engineering plans and deliverables.
  • Assist all engineers and technologists in plan production as needed in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in CADD-related field (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Civil Engineering or heavy civil construction field.
  • Demonstratable experience in developing plans in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer, or equivalent.
  • Ability to document and annotate 2D plans, sections, and details from 3D models.
  • Experience and comfort working in a team environment with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet various project deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Developing internal processes for project database visualization and organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree and/or Certification in Geospatial Technology, Geography, Surveying, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with desktop mapping tools such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap.
  • Experience with cloud-based mapping tools such as ArcGIS Online and Field Maps/Collector.
  • Experience with GPS and/or measuring tools.
  • Experience with SQL and database querying.
  • Strong understanding of engineering-related geospatial concepts (coordinate systems, map projections, mapping vs. survey-grade accuracy).
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Geography, Surveying, Engineering, or related field with an emphasis in Geospatial Technologies.
  • Experience with Municipal, Water/Wastewater, and/or Transportation Engineering Industry.
  • Familiarity with other engineering CAD software (Bentley and/or Autodesk Products).
  • Basic Python and/or ArcPy programming experience.
  • Familiarity with Open-Source GIS Tools (i.e., QGIS, OpenLayers, Geoserver).
